Norhayati Ramli is an Associate Professor at the Department of Bioprocess Technology, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her research projects are focused on the development of bioindicators for pollution monitoring and the creation of value-added products and bio-based chemicals from waste, particularly from the palm oil industry. She has secured multiple national and international matching grants, including networking projects with industries. She is the recipient of the DaSilva Award 2020 awarded by the Society for Biotechnology, Japan for her outstanding achievements in the field of microbial biotechnology.
